The narrative is set in the early 1900s and focuses on Rosa, a housecleaner. Rosa marries a shopkeeper who is in love with another woman, an event that significantly alters her relationship with her eldest daughter Luna for decades.
Designated as a Netflix Original, the series originates from Israel and airs on Yes Drama. Netflix presented the first season of the show in two parts: the first ten episodes in May 2022 and the next ten in July 2022. However, in Israel, season 1 comprised of 44 episodes, which Netflix condensed into 20 episodes.
The drama made its Netflix debut in select regions in 2022, with more regions added in 2023. According to Unogs, at least 13 countries now feature the series.
Excitement builds for season 2
‘The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem’ will indeed be returning for a second season. The renewal announcement was initially made at EAST Tel Aviv in December 2021 and later reaffirmed by Variety in 2022.
Despite a few filming setbacks, the second season managed to air 26 episodes on Yes Drama between January 23rd, 2023, and March 21st, 2023. Netflix users now eagerly await its arrival in July 2023.
